DESCRIPTION
This week we go to Cape Town (South Africa) for the start of Leg 3, a 6500 nautical miles stretch in the epic Southern Ocean that will take the fleet to Melbourne (Australia) - where arrival is expected around Christmas.
It is a return to the Volvo Ocean Race’s roots: in this edition the fleet will sail in the Southern Ocean almost three times the amount of miles than in the previous edition. But this particular route has not been sailed since 2005.

In this week's race summary we look at:
- Fantastic departure with strong winds in Table Bay

- Dongfeng Race Team's last-minute crew change
- Sun Hung Kai/Scallywag's navigator replacement
- First day in heavy conditions after departure
