This is the first time the Volvo Ocean Race has had more than one Portuguese sailor in the race. Bernardo Freitas and Federico Pinheiro de Melo, local Cascais sailors, have joined Dee Cafari on Turn the Tide on Plastic for the 13th Edition of the Volvo Ocean Race. After a good assembly period in Lisbon, the sailors are ready to start this epic journey with the Prologue race to Alicante for the Start of Leg 1 back to Lisbon.
